This November 21-29, Aqua Surf is heading across the Atlantic for an unforgettable week of surfing, progression, and adventure on Portugal’s legendary Silver Coast!

Designed for teen surfers ages 13-17, the trip is built around what we love most: quality waves, daily surf coaching, video analysis, new experiences, and an epic crew to share it all with.

Led by Aqua Surf Trip Guides Dylan Sohngen and Max Jaskwhich, we’ll team up with locally based coach Nalu Daniels to find the best waves each day and experience Portugal’s incredible surf culture. And yes, we’re heading to Nazaré to see one of the most legendary big-wave destinations on Earth and meet members of the local surf community.

The Surf Coaching

Our mission is to give our surfers the opportunity to progress their surfing in quality Portuguese waves with the support of an experienced coaching team.

Every surf session will be filmed, giving us the chance to review footage as a team back at the surf house, break down technique, and set goals for the next session.

With multiple surf spots just 5-10 minutes from the house, we’ll choose the best waves each day based on conditions. Our primary break is a long right-hand point break, offering incredible opportunities to practice turns, positioning, and open-face surfing.

Nazaré Day Trip

Yes, of course we’re going to Nazaré!

Our trip falls right in the beginning of Nazaré’s big-wave season, and we’ll be watching the forecast to pick the biggest day of our trip to visit the legendary cliffs of Praia do Norte, just an hour away.

Made famous by record-breaking waves and HBO’s 100 Foot Wave, Nazaré is one of surfing’s most iconic destinations. From the safety of the cliffs, we’ll watch the action, meet local big-wave surfers, and take part in a hands-on ocean stewardship project with the local community.

A day experiencing big-wave surfing up close that any surfer would never forget!

$4,500 — FLIGHTS INCLUDED!

Deadline: Book by September 30, 2026 for flights included option

One simple price for the full Portugal experience. Includes round-trip airfare from LAX on our designated group flights, accommodations, daily surfing, meals, scheduled activities and excursions, and local transportation throughout the trip.

TRAVELING SEPERATELY

For surfers not departing from Los Angeles for the trip (Example: based in New York, Paris, London, etc.) please inquire via email for separate pricing and custom arrangements. This option includes the complete Portugal trip experience adjusted for travel expense.

$1,200 DEPOSIT TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT

A $1,200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your surfer’s place on the trip. The remaining balance will be due prior to departure, with payment plans available.

Space is limited. We’re planning an intimate group of just 8 surfers, allowing us to provide a highly personalized, well-supervised experience both in and out of the water.

Who is the Portugal Surf Trip for?

The Aqua Surf Portugal Surf Trip is designed for teen surfers ages 13–17 who are ready to progress their surfing, experience a new culture, and join an unforgettable international surf adventure on Portugal’s Silver Coast.

What surfing experience is required?

Surfers need to be able to paddle out and surf independently on open face waves. Going down the line and working on maneuvers is the ideal level.

Who will be leading and supervising the trip?

The trip will be led by Aqua Surf Trip Guides Dylan Sohngen and Max Jaskwhich, alongside locally based surf coach Nalu Daniels. Participants will receive hands-on surf coaching and supervision throughout the trip. Our host Cece will be on the trip as our lead female staff, and if we have more girls sign up for the trip, we’ll add another female surf guide.

What is included in the Portugal Surf Trip?

The trip includes accommodations, daily surf coaching, video analysis, local transportation, activities/excursions such as Nazaré, meals, equipment (unless bringing your own board), and a round-trip flight if booked by September 30. Teens are welcome to bring spending money for souvenirs and additional snacks. The pastries are going to be pretty epic (pastel de natas… mmmmm)!

Why are we doing this trip?

It’s simple: going on surf trips with our friends is one of the greatest joys in life as a surfer, and we want to pass this onto up-and-coming surfers. New places, new waves, new foods, new experiences, and new friends… that’s what surf culture is all about!

What if our surfer would be traveling from somewhere not in LA?

We have some families whose surfers may be traveling from New York, Paris, Seattle, or elsewhere. For this, we’ll discount the trip to not include flights and coordinate to link with our surfer in Lisbon upon arrival. We can easily have one of our surf guides do an additional airport pick up. Just reach out!
