At Aqua Surf School, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to ride the waves. That’s why we are excited to announce our hugely expanded Scholarship Program for our Summer programs, designed to make surfing accessible to all communities. Our mission is to help empower kids, teens, and families who might not otherwise have the chance to learn how to surf in Los Angeles, and enjoy this fantastic sport. Surf scholarships are available for our summer programs — Applications are Now Open. Please note that all scholarships will be awarded by May 29th, after which the application will be closed.
About Our Camp Scholarship Program
Our summer programs are more than just surfing at a beach camps – they are life-changing experiences. We offer a week-long immersive programming with highly trained role models. Our participants will learn not only to surf, but also about ocean safety, environmental conservation, and the vibrant history and culture of surfing while building lifelong interpersonal skills.
Eligibility
An inclusive opportunity for low-income families with kids and teens aged 5-17 years old. This program is designed specifically for families facing financial hardships. In order to qualify, a single parent must document their income of $30,000 or a couple must document an income of $60,000 or less. Proof of income must be provided based on the previous year’s tax return.
We also offer partial discounts for those families in need. We wish to make surfing instruction available for everyone! Apply for Scholarship/Discount
Application Process
Our goal is to ensure that our scholarships and partial discounts reach those who can greatly benefit from them. We prioritize the privacy and security of your information throughout this process. As part of our commitment to you, we have a streamlined application process that safeguards your personal data. Our scholarship team reviews applications on an ongoing basis. For 2026, the surf scholarship application process will be concluded by June 1st.
How to Start: Select your dates in our camp registration system and and you will see the option to “Apply for Discount/Scholarship”. From there you will make an account for your child and can apply for the specific location and dates.

2025 Fire Relief Surf Fund
In the wake of the January 2025 fires, we were proud to support affected families by allocating dedicated funds for full and partial scholarships to our Summer Surfing Programs in Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach. It was an honor to help kids return to the ocean, rebuild confidence, and find joy during a difficult time.
