~ 2025 Program Impact ~
Starting with devastating wildfires, 2025 was a challenging year with a lot of uncertainties for many of our surf families, our community and us as a local business. These challenges however were a call to action for our team so we doubled down on our Surf Scholarships & Discounts program in addition to adding a $20,000 Wildfire Recovery Fund.
The Result – Aqua Surf awarded over 60 full or partial scholarships to young surfers. Many recipients were fire-affected families or children in families facing financial hardship.
Surf camp brought a sense of normalcy in a familiar, safe and super fun environment. For kids affected, many who were relocated, by the fires it was a chance to be reunited for friends, counselors and familiar faces from years of going to Aqua Surf camp every summer. It was epic!

How Our Scholarship Program Works
Our scholarship program helps provides full-week surf camp experiences for kids ages 5–17.
These scholarships are available at Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach.
Every day on the beach includes surfing, ocean safety, environmental education, and mentorship.
In addition, every group is led by highly trained instructors who act as positive role models.
Together, we focus on building confidence, community, and lifelong skills that reach far beyond the waves.
We do our best to help as many families and kids to surf as we can.
At Aqua Surf, we believe surfing is fun, healing, challenging, exciting and should be accessible to everyone. The ocean is an incredible resource and it’s our joy to guide kids and adults into enjoying it.
That’s why we proudly expanded our 2025 Summer Scholarship Programs, offering full-ride surf camp opportunities at all of our beach locations.
Whether a family is facing financial hardship or recovering from recent fires, we’re here to help them experience the magic of surfing.
Through these programs, we aim to make the ocean a place of healing, confidence, and connection for every child who joins us.
Community Highlight – Free Beach Day for Marquez Elementary
After the January fires burned down Marquez Elementary School, Aqua Surf was honored to host a free kids beach day in June 2025.
Over 30 students joined us for a morning of beach games, laughter, and fun.
By the end, the beach was filled with cheers, smiles, and a sense of normalcy after a traumatic year.
It was a much-needed dose of good vibes after such a difficult year!
