Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need prior surfing experience?
No. We welcome all levels. If it’s your first time ever standing on a board, we’ll take it step by step.
What if I’m not a strong swimmer?
All activities take place in waist-to-chest-deep water. We won’t ask anyone to go beyond what feels right and safe.
What if I’m nervous about getting in the water?
No worries — your “surf sisters” will be right by your side every step of the way. We move at your pace, whether that means easing in slowly, taking breaks on the board, or just soaking up the ocean energy from the shore until you’re ready. You’re never alone out there.
Find Your Flow: Surf, Sisterhood, and Self-Care
Women’s Wellness Surf Series invite you to experience sanctuary by the sea. Whether you’re a first-timer ready to find your stoke, a mother craving a little space to exhale, or someone navigating an experience of trauma or grief, this 2-hour session is intended for anyone looking to find healing in the waves. Through mindfulness, movement, and shared intention, we gather in sisterhood to reconnect with our bodies, our stories, and the wisdom of the waves. We’ll start with mindful intention and light movement on the sand to ground and awaken the body, then dive into an expression in the ocean (surfing or swimming with instructors), leaving you feeling enlightened, restored, strengthened, and supported.

“I feel like almost every woman that I’ve watched become a surfer takes a new control of what they want their life to look like, in a way that they weren’t doing before. I think the world will be a better place when more women get to do that.”
-Renee Labbe
